The Miracle Fruit plant (Synsepalum dulcificum) produces berries that, when eaten, cause bitter and and sour foods (such as lemons and limes) consumed later to taste sweet. A miracle fruit plant is a slow growing shrub that typically reaches approximately 1.5 meters (5 feet) in height. The plant does best outdoors in warm climates, or as a potted house plant. It makes an excellent potted plant and does very well next to a sunny window. The plant can be moved outdoors during the summer months but kneeds shade.
